A Case of Mucinous Ductal Ectasia of the Pancreas

A 40-year-old man was admitted for evaluation of cyst-like lesion of the pancreas. He has been well until the lesion was found incidentally on routine health examination. When endoscopic retrograde pancreastogram was performed, bulging ampulla of
Vater,
patulous ampullary orifice and mucus leakage from papillary orifice were noted. also gradpelike dilatation of side branch of the uncinate process and dilatation of the main pancreatic dut were observed.
Whipple's operation was performed. The lesion measured 1.5 cm in diameter. Histologic examination demonstrated the epithelial hyperplasia in the dilated area.
